6 more days till the thesis reception! I’m hoping to see you all there. Just letting you know, I might be bringing some food… I make a mean guacamole.
Also, it’s that last leg of the semester, and it’s finals next week, I thought I’d show you all a little of what I’m working on.
It’s a 3 1/2 ft by 2 1/2 ft painting. It’s also the first time I’ve used gold leaf in three years. Make sure you have an extra pair of tweezers on hand so that you don’t destroy your only pair. T____T
So if you all have notices, I’ve switched some of the pieces around in the website! It’s two weeks to the thesis show at the California College of the Arts, and I will be posting photos of the event.
Here’s the latest piece I’ve added to the site!
Go and check it out if you’re in town. Here are the details:
Nave Alcove, San Francisco Campus

Reception: Thurs., May 7, 7-8:30 p.m.
It’s been an extremely busy semester, and I know I should have kept you updated. Nevertheless, here are a few things I thought you should know:
1. I’m going to have my thesis show at the California College of the Arts in San Francisco on the 7th of May. The show should be up all week but the reception starts at 5:30PM. See you there!
2. I’ve gotten my first ever business cards! Here’s a taste:
Will be giving you all sneak peeks to my thesis in the next post!
So recently with thesis and all, it’s been getting real busy. However, I will be updating images from my thesis project soon, which is based on taboos that are being more and more portrayed by the media. Stay tuned for more updates.
In the meantime, here’s an image of a dude who has serious fly catching skills.
Happy new year from Kuala Lumpur guys!
I apologise that I haven’t been updating of late, the whole Christmas and new year season got the better of me. I have to say, cooking dinner for a party of 20 is no easy task! But enough talk about my holidays, let’s see some in-progress pieces:
Also, will update later this week with a new piece from my sketchbook. Stay tuned!
So here’s the 3ft piece i’ve finished.
I left it uncroped so you can see the objects around it for scale!
This is probably the largest thing I’ve done in years.
Happy holidays from Kuala Lumpur!!!
So recently I did some illustrations that were featured on the TransForm blog, which is a non-profit organisation dedicated to revamping the Bay Area transit system. This was partnered with the California College of the Arts ENGAGE class. Please have a look!
Here’s an in-progress shot on the 3ft br 4ft painting I was working on:
The goal was to complete this within 4 hours. The media used was acrylic on chip board. Personally I feel this piece has really expanded my horizons in terms of artistic style.
So recently I did a new piece on the Krampus – the Christmas demon that basically goes around beating children with sticks.
The goal was to accomplish the piece under 4 hours. I’m thinking of taking it further with some colour.
So I finished the mermaid I did for life drawing class. My process included first inking the entire drawing with brush pen and an architectural pen. I used gold gel pen for the moon and a white opaque gel pen for the stars. I then finished the entire image on photoshop. What do you think?
I also have a second version here:
Which do you prefer?
